Browse through the Portfolio of Paintings & Drawings to see what is for sale (as well as pieces which have already been sold), enjoy a few poems, or simply read about UK based fine artist and teacher Cathy Bird.

Classically trained, but with a wide range of experience in both traditional and contemporary art forms, and available for every type of drawing or painting commission, Cathy's favourite themes include but are by no means limited to abstract figures, butterflies and angels through flowers, landscapes, women and washing and exotic fantasy imagery. She is also a keen portrait painter who draws upon her formative years and experiences in Malawi and The Gambia.

As an actively exhibiting and working artist, in June 2004 and 2005 Cathy opened her artist studio door to the public in the context of the South East Open Studios programme. She will do so again in 2006.

In July 2004 one of her many community work endeavours took her to Central America, where she represented the UK in the ARTE PARA TODOS (Art for All) event in Honduras, a project involving the creation of murals and sculptures in the city of Tegucigalpa, Honduras, under the auspices of the First Lady of Honduras and the UN Volunteers.

This and her involvement with the Youth For Human Rights campaign as an artist leading workshops for youths from all sectors of the community are just some of this artist's activities featured on the website.
